About Donations
and Volunteering
The Bensen Days Event in Florida has always been managed, funded, and operated by a dedicated group of rotorcraft enthusiasts. Whether associated with the now-defunct Florida club, Sunstate Wing & Rotor Club (SWARC), Popular Rotorcraft Association (PRA) having no specific affiliation, Bensen Days History owes its very being to the efforts of people willing to donate time and money or both to keep the event alive.
This year is no exception. With the demise of SWARC in 2018, the infrastructure and funding for the event completely disappeared. Fortunately, another dedicated group of rotorcraft enthusiasts stepped forward. This group’s goal is to keep the Bensen Days event alive and the group has been running run Bensen Days at Wauchula, Florida as a not-for-profit company since 2019. As you may be aware, there is never any guarantee that the event will generate enough money to meet expenses, let alone make a profit. While the event has been profitable for some years, it regularly relies on residuals from previous years to remain in on-going operation.
No one in the group running the event is compensated for their work (excepting some reimbursement for specific out-of-pocket expenses). It is all volunteer. It is for this reason we respectfully request your assistance by means of donations. Be assured that any profit from the event, along with donations, above the expenses for the event will be properly accounted for and held over for the production of the next year’s event. We regret that at this time we cannot offer a tax-exempt status for your kind donations.
Your consideration is greatly appreciated! Any amount is gratefully accepted.
